How to know what dress style suits you?

Nowadays, in the market, you will surely find a lot of options when it comes to dresses. To find the dress that will look best on you, you first need to identify your body type.

Your style is not to support the dress trend that is going on in the market; rather, it will be more flattering if you go with the dress type that suits your body. Here fashion designers play a significant role in designing the perfect dress that will suit their clients. If you like fashion and want to style people, you can get into the best fashion designing college in Delhi that provides the best fashion-related courses.

Almost every person had a different body type. There are broadly four body types identified so far. The person of each body type should wear the dress that flatters them the most. Let’s have a look at them.

  • Hourglass: People with hourglass body figures are curvier from their hips and bust. People with this type of body shape have a comparatively balanced upper body with leg length. Such people have well-defined waists, so they should wear a dress accentuating this body part. The best dresses for such a person are v-necklines, open necklines, form-fitting tops, and cinched-in waistlines. It will be great for you to get the wrap dresses that will go around the waist and look very flattering. Such people should never wear oversized dresses or baby doll dresses.
  • Pear: Nowadays, it is seen that most girls have a pear-shaped body in which they have a thinner upper body and larger hips and thighs. Just to make your body look more balanced, add more volume to the upper dress. It will be great to wear strapless tops, v-neckline, A-line suits or skirts. Get the dress that has details on the bust area. For such, people avoid wearing body-fit dresses.
  • Athletic: If a girl has an athletic body type, she tends to have not-well-defined curves but broader shoulders. For such girls, it is better to wear a dress that adds more volume to their overall body. Ruffles, embellishments, and another dress that has increasing details will look great on them. Such people should stay away from strapless dresses as they will make the shoulders look even broad.
  • Apple: People with apple body types carry more weight in the midsection of their bodies. Usually, they have undefined waist and slim legs. For such people, wearing a dress that draws more attention to their upper body will be great. The major asset for such people is their legs, so wear something short to flaunt it. Such people should avoid wearing very fitted tops and dress with horizontal lines.

So, these are the body types in a broader sense, and we all belong to any one of it. Understanding body type helps to pick outfits that match your style, enhancing your features. So, next time you go out for shopping, don’t forget to consider your body type before trying out the dress in the trial room.
